Why?

In the years preparing for the 2012 London Olympic Games the city's landscape has changed considerably. But alongside hopes for regeneration and increased opportunity, the ongoing privatisation of public space and ubiquity of surveillance threatens to cast a shadow of anxiety. Is there any space left in the city to play by rules of our own making?

The Article 31.1 Programme
Article 31.1 are a collective of architects, designers and activists who are curating a programme of pop-up events, workshops and playful interventions during LFA 2012 that aim to explore the city as a playspace.
